Grand Josun Busan
5-Star Haeundae Hotel Review: Staying at Grand Josun Busan

Hi there!
If you’re planning a trip to Busan, South Korea’s most romantic seaside city,
you’ve probably looked into
Grand Josun Busan, one of the best 5-star hotels in Haeundae.

It was genuinely beautiful.
Especially waking up to Busan’s sparkling oceanand
seeing that view first thing in the morning… it made the whole trip feel extra special.
This Busan hotelwas such a happy place to stay.

In this review,
I thought I’d compare the ocean view vs city viewso you can decide which room is better for your trip.

Grand Josun Busan
292 Haeundaehaebyeon-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea

The biggest advantage of Grand Josun Busan
is its unbeatable location in Haeundae.Really,
it sits right in front of Gunam-ro, so no matter where you go around Haeundae,
you’re always close to your hotel. That convenience is a huge plus.

And right out front,
you can enjoy Haeundae’s clean white sand and beautiful ocean views at the same time.

Hotel check-in

Check-in at Grand Josun Busan
starts at 3 PM, but if you arrive a little after 2 PM,
the staff may help you get checked in after a short wait in the check-in lounge.
I really appreciated that.

Grand Josun Busan doesn’t feel overly grand or flashy,
but it does feel polished, thoughtful, and quietly luxurious in every detail.
That’s exactly the impression I got.
A true 5-star hotel, for sure.

They give you an information sheet along with your key card,
and Grand Josun amenities do not include a toothbrush or toothpaste.
Instead, the hotel provides full-size bathroom amenities, which makes it easy
to use plenty of body wash, lotion, shampoo, and hand wash comfortably.
That was definitely a plus.

If you plan to use the pool, when you receive your room key
ask for a pool robe,
and you can use that robe during your stay.

– Netflix available
– One-time minibar included
– Free Wi-Fi
– Free access to the pool / free access to the gym
(no limit on the number of visits)

Ocean View & City View

Ocean view

This is probably what most people are most curious about:
the Grand Josun Busan ocean view room.
It’s a full ocean view room with the clear blue sea spread out right in front of you,

and the room itself feels clean and upscale.
With twin beds, it also works well
as a family room if you’re traveling with kids.

City view

And here’s the city view room!
The best part of this room
is that you actually get both a city view and a partial ocean view.
(This was room 1430.)

Haeundae view

Haeundae night view

Because there’s a separate side window in addition to the floor-to-ceiling window,

one side looks out over Haeundae’s lively city streets,
while the other side gives you the beach, Marine City, and the ocean all at once.
It felt surprisingly romantic.

The downside is that this room doesn’t have a bathtub.
Still, if you’d rather choose the view over the tub
or if the ocean view rooms are sold out,
I’d quietly recommend this one too.

Room amenities

There’s a Bluetooth speaker in the room,
and it turned out to be a JBL Horizon speaker from Samsung.Nice surprise.
Personally, I thought
it was a solid speaker with good sound quality.

There’s also a separate minibar with bottled water and wine glasses,
plus a coffee machine and electric kettle,
and inside you’ll find sparkling water and one can of Pringles.
The minibar is complimentary for one use.

There’s also a nice variety of tea,
and you can enjoy Josun Hotel’s signature Vivente coffee
right in your room, which was a lovely touch.

There was one decaf option
and one Supremo coffee,
so as a decaf lover, I was happy.

Morning coffee here would be pretty perfect, right?

The bathroom is decorated in a clean white-and-black style,
and it feels just right—simple, polished, and comfortable.
It was spotless.

Body lotion, hand wash,
shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
plus hair ties, cotton swabs, and a shower cap
are provided as amenities,
so I’d recommend bringing your own toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, and other personal items.
Just to be safe.

There are two robes and two pairs of slippers,
and plenty of towels as well.

The bedding had that crisp hotel feel,
and everything was clean and well maintained.

I was wondering what that little leaf card was,
but it’s there in case you want the sheets changed during a multi-night stay.
You just place it on the bed.
Cute, right?

If you open the drawer next to the bed,
you’ll find a separate remote just for Netflix, which is good to know.

Grand Josun Busan facilities

Here’s a quick look at the facilities at Grand Josun Busan.
During your stay at this Haeundae hotel review favorite, you can freely use the fitness center and Heavenly Pool,
throughout your stay.
They’re all located on the 6th floor.

Pool & infinity pool

Outdoor

This is Grand Josun’s outdoor ocean-view pool.
The outdoor pool is open until 9 PM,

and while it’s not an especially huge infinity pool,
it’s absolutely gorgeous when you catch it without the crowds.
The pool gets very busy from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM,
so keep that in mind.
The water is heated, too.

I’d recommend aiming for the morning
if you want a quieter swim.

Indoor

This is the indoor pool at Grand Josun Busan.
It looked like both swimsuits and rash guards were allowed.
The indoor pool has three lanes, and there’s also a separate hot bath.
Cabanas can be reserved in advance and cost about $8 per hour.

Gym

The gym at Grand Josun Busan
is well known because you can run on the treadmill while looking out at the ocean.
That’s a pretty great perk.

It’s not enormous, and it doesn’t have the most high-end equipment ever,
but it’s a practical, well-equipped gym with everything you actually need.

Workout clothes, socks, and towels are all available to borrow,
so you can just show up—just make sure to bring
your own sneakers.

There’s also a separate room for InBody scans and blood pressure checks.
