These days, whenever you plan an overseas trip,
once you factor in flights, hotels, and transportation,
it usually gets expensive fast, and you need to block off a lot more time.

But while searching, I found a 1-night, 2-day Tsushima packagefor around $72!

and even by boat, it only takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
I figured Tsushima was one of those places I should visit at least once in my life,
so I went.

When I first saw this price,
I honestly thought, is this really a Japan package tour?
Because in reality, just the ferry + hotel +
the bus fare from Hitakatsu to Izuhara alone
already pushes you well over $144…

So the fact that everything was included for around $72?
It felt like an absolute steal.

And another nice thing about this package is that
instead of arriving at Hitakatsu Port,
you go straight to Izuhara,
so you don’t have to spend another 2 hours and 30 minutes on a bus.
That was a huge plus for me.

From Busan Port International Passenger Terminal,
this Tsushima trip by ferry has such a fun, romantic travel vibe.

If you live in Busan or the Gyeongnam area,
the accessibility is honestly hard to beat.

I even took the KTX down from Seoul, and it still felt worth it.
If you live nearby and still haven’t gone, it almost feels like missing out on one of life’s easy wins.

Personally, I absolutely love traveling to smaller cities and towns in Japan,
and for that kind of trip, Tsushima is seriously perfect..

It’s peaceful,
the scenery is beautiful,
it’s quiet,
and with the ocean views and all that lush greenery,
I was ridiculously happy the whole time.

More than anything, it gave me that feeling of briefly living there instead of just visiting.
There are lots of cats, too.

Since the hotel stay is in downtown Izuhara,
Tiara Mall is right outside,
and there’s also a convenience store nearby, so it’s super convenient.

It’s also a lovely neighborhood for an evening walk.
And tucked into the side streets, there are quite a few surprisingly good local restaurants.
The people in town felt warm and welcoming, too.

Tsushima isn’t the kind of destination with dense public transportation,
so if you go independently, (I’ve done Tsushima on a DIY trip too..)
you have to book the ferry,
reserve the hotel,

and figure out a rental car or some other way to get around.
For a trip that’s only 1 night and 2 days,
that’s a lot of hassle to prepare.

But if you can solve all of that for around $72? And on top of that,
the schedule itself isn’t overly packed—you get to relax and enjoy the scenery, though walking everywhere would honestly be a bit much.
So if a package takes care of all that at this price,
it really does feel like an incredible deal, and I booked it right away.

You can visit a shrine and the Princess Deokhye Wedding Commemorative Monument,
explore downtown Izuhara,
and even enjoy free shopping time at Tiara Mall.
After dinner, the rest of the evening is free time too.

All meals are included in the package,
which honestly makes the whole thing feel almost unreal.

Day 2: breakfast + lunch

And on the second day, you also get to see Miuda Beach
and stop by Hitakatsuas well.

Tsushima has a lot of outdoor sightseeing spots,
so personally, I think it’s much better once the weather cools down
rather than going in the peak of summer.

Since the itinerary includes walking on the beach, visiting a shrine, and going up to an observatory,
October definitely feels more comfortable.

A lot of people start looking for Japan trips in October,
and when hotel prices in places like Fukuoka or Osaka get expensive,
a nearby small-town Japan package like this can be a really smart alternative.
