La Pizza at the Termini Food Court in Rome, Italy
How I accidentally ordered sardine pizza

Hello from the Termini food court!
It’s your world-travel blogger, Traveling Gomyammi,checking in.
On our first day in Rome,
we arrived at Termini, dropped off our bags, and headed back out around 9 p.m.
For our family of four,
we booked Full House, a place near Roma Termini station that accommodates three to four guests.
If you’re looking for somewhere that feels safe, costs around $150–$159, and has a friendly host,
I really recommend it. We stayed for almost a week!
We were figuring out where to eat when our host told us the food court at Termini station
was different from the usual food courts back in Korea: each restaurant
had been carefully selected for its food. That recommendation was all we needed.
We quickly finished unpacking and headed straight over.

We ended up at a place called La Pizza.

If you’re at Termini late at night
wondering whether there’s anywhere to grab dinner,
this lively, night-market-style spot is worth a look.
Head to the Termini food court on the first floor.
The chicken and pizza here are both tasty.

There’s carbonara, too,
plus plenty of sandwiches, burritos, dumplings, and more.

Each restaurant has seating out front where you can settle in with your food.
Even at that late hour, there were more people than I expected,
and the whole place was buzzing.

We ordered one Margherita from the top of the menu
and one Napoli from the bottom.
Honestly, I barely read the menu. I just thought, “Napoli? Oh, that sounds good!”
And ordered it.
The owner was incredibly friendly, too.

Ta-da—the Margherita!
It looked delicious. A solid choice.

But then, as the owner
was making the Napoli, he put THIS on top!
Wait—what?!

Yep.
The Napoli turned out to be a Margherita topped with sardines.
That extra €1? Apparently, that was for the sardines…
They had a pretty intense fishy flavor.
I’d only ever come across sardines in shooter games. I certainly wasn’t expecting to find them on my pizza.
The Margherita, though, was genuinely delicious.
In the end, my younger sibling picked off the sardines and finished the whole thing.
So if you’re ordering pizza at Termini station,
specifically at La Pizza,
consider this your heads-up.
Don’t just order blindly like I did!

Beer and a Margherita, on the other hand? A great combination.
One thing I found interesting: everyone seemed to order a whole pizza each and eat it right in front of them.
The pizza was tasty and good value,
and it definitely left me thinking, “Pizza really does taste better in Italy.”
Keep my little ordering mishap in mind before visiting the Termini food court!
